Hello to all my gorgeous, beautiful, talented readers and happy summer!
For some of you, this is your favorite time of year - the weather's nice, the clothes are cute, and social activities abound. For others, this is a season of dread - dreading the clothes, the beach, the heat, the chafing, useless makeup, and above all, the seeming increase in eyes on your body. Believe me, having once been 5'6" and 200lbs, I understand the emotional stress summer can bring. However, I'll fill you in on a little secret. No matter what weight you are, it's an inside game - feeling emotionally happy about your body.
So here's my strategy for changing your thoughts - and it’s one I recommend you start experimenting with now - because seriously, life is way too short not to enjoy your body and who you are!!
I'm only going to suggest that you try this for the next 2 weeks ONLY - because this is an experiment, and some of you may want to go back to feeling yucky about your bodies again, so DO NOT proceed with this experiment after 2 weeks. Otherwise, we cannot be held responsible for how much you will fall in love with your thighs or your stomach;)
Consider this your official homework assignment from LSW to you.
First and foremost, STOP reading magazines - you know the ones that push your buttons - so just don't read them - donate your button-pushing subscriptions to your gym or your office's reception area.
Secondly, and again, for the next 2 weeks and 2 weeks only, every time you have a negative thought about your body, I want you to immediately scan your environment for another woman and find something beautiful about her. Go over board with how you would compliment this one thing about her - channel all that negative energy into something constructive. Practicing this multiple times daily, will increase your natural ability to do this for yourself... and PLEASE DO NOT take my word for it - experiment and see what happens!!
Transformation requires action my lovelies - so if you wanna enjoy your hot body this hot summer - get crackin' on your homework and write in to us with your results. We're here for you!
