HPV and Decision-Making

We're all for western medicine delivering amazing and effective treatments. We're also all for companies treating women's bodies with integrity and honesty. We just wanted you to know that there are risks involved with the vaccine and that it only protects you against 4 of the 40 HPV strains.

A vaccination might not be the only option. In fact, you will most likely unknowingly harbor at least one strain of the virus at least once in your life. According to the CDC, your body typically fights HPV strains naturally, including those known to cause genital warts and cervical cancer, before you even notice symptoms.

There are always going to be innovations in Western medicine that are new and potentially good. There is also a very long history of pharmaceutical companies rushing to get new drugs on the market to increase profits for stockholders, and drugs being pulled from shelves as a consequence. Therefore, when it comes to women's GYN care, be it Gardasil, HRT for menopause, or Lybrel for period cessation in teenage girls, isn't it time that we women stop giving our decision-making power away to everyone other than ourselves and our intuition? Take charge of your health, listen to your body, and make decisions that feel right.
