Sunday Brunch in Fort Greene!

When most New Yorkers, myself included, think of Sunday brunch, we picture waiting forever for a table at a crowded restaurant and when we finally sit down we are starving so we pig out on bread, bagels, pastries, pancakes, eggs, fries all topped with free refills on coffee!

This past Sunday, I was inspired to by the vibrancy and rich colors of the first cherry blossom tree spotted in my neighborhood! I decided to bring Sunday brunch to my apartment for my boyfriend and myself. I went right to the Fort Greene farmer’s market and found myself drawn to all the purple foods! My bag quickly filled up with local pastured eggs, red and yellow onions, sweet and purple potatoes, and bacon—duck and pork.

I put it all together with some other stuff I had in my apartment and this was our Sunday brunch menu:

· Egg scramble with asparagus and red onion and with a dab of local goat cheese
· Roasted potatoes with thyme and duck bacon
· Side of pork bacon (totally for my boyfriend’s benefit!)

It was such a delicious meal and we felt amazing after! We decided our new Sunday brunch tradition will be in our kitchen!! So let me know if you are in the area and want to come by next weekend : )
